A radio station has been commissioned for the Rivers State Renewed Hope Ambassadors to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign in 2027.
The radio, Majority FM 89.5, was commissioned in Rivers State by the immediate past governor of the state and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
This was disclosed by Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, who shared a video of the commissioning at the Rivers State Secretariat of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, in Port Harcourt.
The radio station comprises various studios for conducting interviews and a maintenance unit.
Speaking at the event, Wike said it was a way to show support for President Tinubu’s ambition.
“It is not by newspaper. Our commitment is shown that indeed we are working for Mr President Ahmed Tinubu. We don’t need a governor to mobilise for Mr President. We have what it takes to be on our own.
“There is no governor among us here. We have senators, assembly people, council chairmen, national assembly members, and party chairmen of the APC and PDP.
“We have mobilised ourselves to make commitments to donate because we believe that if you say you are supporting somebody, you don’t need the person to bring their resources. You have to make a commitment, and this is what our leaders have done. Let me once again thank all of you,” Wike said.
Last week, the minister warned that he and his supporters would forcibly enter the Yakubu Gowon Stadium for their next rally if the Rivers State Government continues to deny them entry, declaring that “heaven will not fall” if the facility is damaged.
Wike issued the warning in Port Harcourt during the inauguration of senatorial and local government coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, an event organised in support of President Tinubu’s administration ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Wike said his group had formally applied to the state government for the use of the stadium but was denied access, describing the action as unprecedented.
“We applied to the state government to use the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, and they refused. Next time, if we apply and they refuse again, we will break it, and nothing will happen,” Wike said.
He boasted that Rivers State was setting the pace in political mobilisation, insisting that the state would continue to lead others in demonstrating support for the President.
