PRESIDENT TINUBU DIRECTS NATIONWIDE RICE DISTRIBUTION FOR RAMADAN AND LENT
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has directed the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) to distribute rice across all 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in support of Nigerians observing the ongoing Ramadan and Lenten seasons.
The Governor of Imo State and Director-General of Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Senator Hope Uzodimma, disclosed this in a statement issued at the weekend, noting that the initiative is aimed at strengthening national unity and demonstrating compassion during a period of deep spiritual significance for both Muslims and Christians.
According to him, the distribution will be coordinated through the nationwide grassroots structure of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, ensuring that families across the country benefit from the intervention during the fasting period.
“This initiative reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to unity and compassion. Ramadan and Lent are seasons that remind us of sacrifice, charity, and care for one another,” Uzodimma said.
“Through this distribution, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors will ensure that families across Nigeria feel the spirit of togetherness during this sacred period.”
He further noted that the programme underscores the administration’s commitment to inclusivity, solidarity, and shared national values, as both Muslim and Christian communities will benefit from the nationwide exercise.
Uzodimma added that the intervention builds on a similar effort carried out during the last Christmas season, when rice was distributed to support Nigerians during the festive period, reflecting the administration’s consistent tradition of standing with citizens at important religious and cultural moments.
The distribution will be implemented through RHA structures at the state, local government, and ward levels to ensure broad reach, accountability, and transparency.
